trivialreason lore
When Sarah was very little, let's say ten years old, her dad was abusive, and an alcoholic.Her dad tended to stay up late drinking, and often passed out on the couch with the television still on. As it played, an Adult Swim-esque show by the name of Trivial Reasons would play, featuring two animal looking characters. They were named Mr. Pompy and Petal.The show was... surreal, to say the least. For some reason, Sarah felt drawn to the characters and the show, despite not always understanding what was going on. She would look for more information online, searching for forums and the like to find people who knew about Trivial Reasons (after all, the internet was her escape). Unfortunately, no one seemed to know what she was talking about, neither at school or online.Her dad neglected to pick her up from school. How lucky it is that she can walk from there to her home. Just need to hope her dad will remember to unlock the door for her.One day, as she was returning, she heard familiar voices call out to her from the forest. They beckoned her to enter. Uncertain, she obliged. She could use an adventure.She ended up getting lost, poor thing. As she wandered, she came across a nostalgic clearing, with a cottage she recognized. Tired and confused, she closed her eyes. When she opened them, her story began.

With the kindest demeanor one could have and the energy of a gameshow host, he seems both in and out of place of this strange world. Sweet, but dumb, he prides himself in his knowledge of random trivia, although he can't really do basic math. He treats Sarah like his own daughter. Compared to Petal, he's a lot more outgoing and energetic, and a lot more stable in his emotions. He enjoys ducks, walks in the park, useless trivia and sunsets.

A strange one indeed. Clearly mentally unstable but a sweet parental figure towards Sarah, Petal is certainly the biggest oddity of the world. Almost as if they were never meant to exist, almost as if they know that. Always seeming to be hiding something, but still sweet enough to make you let it slide. Compared to Mr. Pompy, they're a lot more reserved and shy, tending to speak in vague terms and metaphors. They enjoy being with Mr. Pompy and Sarah, cloud watching, drawing and singing.

Our poor tragedy. The only non animal of the group, she's a bit paranoid and anxious, especially when it comes to trying new things. Still, that doesn't stop her from enjoying the adventures she gets with the Trivial Reasons duo. A nice kid, she's friendly when you get to know her, and has a childish, adorable demeanor. Used to be in an abusive household, she's now being raised by Petal and Mr. Pompy. She enjoys drawing, exploring the new world around her, dogs and making strange concoctions out of flowers.
